Ballet Students Primer ReviewI decided to take up ballet as an adult. I found this beginner's guide to ballet at the library and kept renewing it and decided to just buy it. It's old - published in the 40's - but ballet is classical so the information is timeless.
It's written as a technical manual for the dancer to literally have the book opened on the floor in front of them, and to follow the dancer on the page. The right leg is black and the left leg is white to make it easier to see exactly how to do the steps, from tendus up to grand jetes and beyond.
I was unfamiliar with ballet terminology and this book clearly explained it all. I highly recommend this book for anyone interested in learning about ballet from beginners on up.Ballet Students Primer Overview
