He went to A&M, dropped out to go to OCS, & fought in Germany. He led the patrol that linked up w/the Reds at the Elbe River, precipitating the end of WWII in Europe. My book, YOUR GRANDFATHER'S SABRE, recounts this patrol in one chapter, plus I have several other scenes set in WWII A&M.
I also appreciated your section about Bataan & Corregidor. My grandfather (not an Aggie) fought there & died in a POW camp. He is one of the main characters in my book, too.
My work is more historical fiction, but your more archival approach is appreciated!
